Service for batteries

Directive of Batteries and Battery Act – Did you know that?

In many EU member states, the Battery Directive requires that you notify the marketing of batteries before they are put on the market, that you regularly check the quantities sold, and that you comply with your product responsibility or take back and dispose of them in order to ensure environmentally friendly disposal. There is no Europe-wide registration authority and registrations are made per country. In Germany, the Battery Act came into force in 2009 and regulates the placing on the market, return and environmentally sound disposal of batteries and accumulators. The aim of the BattG is to increase the take-back quota of batteries, as they contain recyclable materials, but also substances that are hazardous to the environment and health. For this purpose, joint battery return systems were founded and a registration register was established at the stiftung ear.
